P10-Walsingham

Walsingham was dedicated to the Virgin Mary, whose symbol was the lily, representing purity. When found, the original of this badge was lacking its jewel. This has been replaced in our replica by a garnet, one of the most popular of medieval semi precious stones.

Original found in London.

14th? century.
